power outages

So there was a scheduled power outage this morning. I had double checked on the time of the outage to let Monkey's preschool teacher know and she asked me to check to see if it was going to over the two and a half hour scheduled outage so she could decide whether to cancel classes or not. The outage was due to the suppliers needing to do something on their lines so I was told unless something goes really wrong the outage shouldn't go over, in fact it probably would go under the scheduled time. So things went wrong. I assume very wrong because the outage last twice as long as it should have. Add to not being able to get online, I also didn't have my phone. Last night I had two bars of battery so I figured it would last until the power came back on. No such luck. Not that it would have made a difference because the network seemed to be down due to the power outage.
We spent a lot of time at Spencer's office today. I didn't even have bread in the house to feed the kids so we ended up there for lunch as well as just wasting time waiting for the power to come back on. The kids enjoyed it. I think I also liked it because I was out of the house.
