last night at Mom's

So I have been in Vernal for four days now. I am not sure that I am ready to go home. Spencer hasn't been running the AC and it got over 90 degrees at home. Hopefully he remembers to turn it on before he leaves for work tomorrow morning because if he doesn't it will take way too long to cool the house down when I finally make it home.
So I didn't mean to get on and complain about how hot it is at home. I got on to share some quick memories. I will have pictures later. I just left the camera out in the car.
Why is adorable and getting so big. He just makes me laugh. I just laughed at him. He tried so hard not to crack a smile, but it got to him. I will miss that little man.
Kay and Monkey get along so well. It was hard yesterday when they did not come over. Monkey does more running and playing outside when Kay is there to play with.
Bub just loved to chase and be chased. He is my loud one. He has always been my loud one. He probably will always be my loud one and I will always love him for it. I will be ever so grateful when he has out grown the high pitch squeal that he has right now.
Dee is such a joy. Today she asked me why I was a girl. I guess the answer she wanted was because I am a mom.
Tonight we took them to the park. It was the best thing we could have done. We had only been home for twenty minutes before both boys were sound asleep. And now because I am driving home tomorrow I had better turn in and get some shut eye myself.

messes x 2

So if I didn't think that it might get me in trouble I thought about making the title of this post "kids for sale". I love my children and saying that I would sell them is only a joke, but after the cleaning up their messes tonight I am as close as I would ever be to actually wanting to sell them.
So we were playing in the back yard this evening and I came inside to get more balls and to look for a part of Monkey's t-ball stand. So soon after that Danielle had a batch of cookies done so everyone came in.
The two little stinkers finished their cookies and then went out in the front yard. The garage door was open so of course they ended up in the garage. Later Danielle went and looked out the front window at the stinkers and called out to me "Cindy, the are playing with something orange and gooey." I go out and they had found the wood glue and had spilled it all over the steps and were dipping the baseballs in it. I got most of it sprayed off with water but needed the scrub brush to get some of the dryer bits off. (I probably got some pretty funny looks scrubbing off my front steps!) I come inside and ask Danielle where the kids are and then hear them upstairs. Because I am already cleaning up a mess so Danielle goes up to check on them. Turns out they were in her room playing with her lotion. I don't think I have ever been so grateful for a pump in my life. I feel bad that they have played with her lotion, but all I can think is that it could have been a lot worse.
And now the kids are playing with a computer that Spencer brought home to fix for someone.
I love my kids. I really do, but at this moment I could use a break, but instead I am going to go hand wash all of my silverware.

father's day

So after complaining about my husband I figured on father's day I should give a shout out to him and the role he plays as the father of my children.

Spencer is good with my children. He drives me crazy sometimes, but he is a good dad.

husbands

So I wanted Spencer to go to the store today to see if he liked either of the outdoor table and chair sets that they are selling here in town. Getting him to go though is like pulling teeth. If he wants to be home there is no getting him to leave short of tears and if he wants to be gone then he is gone even when there are tears.

weekend trip

As many people know we went into South Jordan Saturday to go to the Oquirrh temple open house. We went with the primary from our branch so we met up with four other cars at the church at 9:30. We stopped in Lake Pointe to fill up the car with gas and for a potty break. As we got back on the free way we rounded the bend in the road and saw smoke and huge flames. We were stopped for like a hour and a half due to the fatal crash between a pickup truck and a FedEx truck.

Come to find out the FedEx truck was carrying live ammunition that would go off as it got hot enough. Due to this fact they were not allowing vehicles to go past the crash site. They took down the barrier between east and west bound traffic and sent us back west. We all pulled off in Lake Pointe again and some made the decision to just go home and others made the decision to go to Tooele and then down around the Oquirrh mountains. As we came into Lehi traffic was extremely busy. They had road construction going on along with all the extra traffic coming thru due to the freeway closure.

When we finally made it to the temple we were forced to wait in our car as the lightning was striking a little too close for comfort, and the rain was coming down so hard we would have been soaked in seconds had we left the car.

If you look closely at Angel Moroni you will notice that his horn and face look a little black. Come to find out the lightning that was too close for comfort in fact was way to close. Angel Moroni was struck as we sat in our car in the parking lot.

After doing the temple tour we went and got some food. I then took the kids shopping and that was a night mare. After sitting in the car for six hours the kids just wanted to run. unfortunately Danielle and I were just as tired as they were and did not want to have to chase them. I tried to hurry through our shopping. After we were done with all the shopping I had the energy to do, we check to see if I-80 was opened. Although it was not fully opened they were letting cars around in one lane. So we took 201 up and had to wait another fifty minutes in traffic. As we got to the point that we were a quarter mile from the freeway on ramp the freeway was finally opened and we were on our way home.

Traffic was terrible on I-80. In the four and a half years that I have lived in Nevada I have never driven I-80 with so many cars the whole 100 miles from the 201 on ramp. I think the average speed of the cars was close to 85 mph. I know I set the cruise two miles faster than I normally do. We got home at 9 that night. We had left the house at 9 that morning. For those twelve hours that we had been gone we had spent at least 8 of them sitting in the car and probably half of those hours completely stopped.

It was a long day. I was tired, I was ornery and I would have loved to have just gone to bed when I got home. It was hard dealing with two little boys that had been stuck in the car for way too long. I had to remind myself that I was truly blessed. If for no other reason than I was able to go home that night.

refinancing

I think we were just a little late in getting the ball rolling on our decision to refinance the house. We really started the process on Monday and now here it is on Thursday and the interest rates have spiked. If we can't get an interest rate below 5% than it is almost silly for us to refinance. We are have Spencer's cousin as our mortgage broker and so she is a little more interested in getting us a lower interest rate than most other brokers would be. She was going to be looking around today to see about getting us the lowest interest rate that she can. A 15 year loan or a 30 year loan will probably be the deciding factor.

I just hope what ever happens we find out VERY SOON if it is really going to happen or not.

flower blossom

I love the fact that I am actually growing flowers in my yard. Mom gave me some starts from her iris' last year and they actually bloomed. The blooms make the world seem like it is a better place all around. Last night I was pretty dang low. Today has been better, but I still am having issues that I just would go away. Of course this never happens. Hopefully things are even better tomorrow.

Water babies

I love that my kids love to swim. I HATE that they are not afraid of the water. We bought them life jackets last summer. I feel much better just letting them swim.

After the first ill fated jump into the pool he got his water legs back and had a blast!Monkey was off and running almost as soon as we got there. Here he is jumping into the pool with a noodle between his legs.

They were in the pool for a couple of hour . All of us have got the burns to show for it. Luckily the boys had their life jackets on so they only burned on their arms.

backyard play

It is so nice to have things in the backyard coming along as well as they are.

Now my kids can be in the backyard instead of in the front yard when they are playing in the their wading pool.

Our backyard is not as private as some backyards because we are on the golf course, but it is still nice to have the kids away from the street.
