So my beautiful two year old decided my cell phone needed a drink. He put is into a cup with an inch of juice. It could have been worse I guess, but I have only had the phone since the first of the month. And if it had been just water that would have been a lot better. With it being juice there is going to be sticky residue left over so even if it dries out it probably will not work because of all that junk on it.
So very frustrating!!!!

A New Year A Month Almost Gone
I can not believe that January is almost over. It is Mom's brithday today. I wanted to make sure that it was acknowledged so I was going to go take her to lunch. She has decided that after being up with Grandma for over a week now that she needed to go home. I went in on Thursday and spent a few hours with Mom and Grandma and it wasn't easy. And when I was there Grandma was doing good. After I had left things went down hill fast. And up until Sunday when they started giving Grandma anti-anxiety med.s things just weren't good.
Monkey and Bub are growing so fast. Monkey has turned into a boy that wants to give up his independence. Everything is too hard for him and he needs help with everything. This is hard for me. I am so use to him doing everything by himself. If he could do it he did not want you to do it for him. He didn't want you to even around to help.
Bub is the funniest little boy. Last night we were all sitting at the top of the stairs playing with the kid's DS game. When things would go like he wanted he would squeal at the top of his lungs. Being at the top of the stairs it just echoed. He really is such a character. He still has no interest in potty training. I can't wait until that happens, but I have a feeling that it isn't going to be anytime soon.

Grandma
Tuesday morning Mom called me to let me know that Grandma had fallen and broken her hip Monday night. She had surgery to replace her hip and has been in the hospital. I am going in tomorrow to visit her. In the long run I think this is actually a blessing in disguise. Grandma locked herself out of her home on Thursday and 2:30 in the morning. She isn't willing to go stay with Mom and is not willing to have someone come in to stay with her either. They have gotten her in to see a Neurologist and he says Sever Dementia. He was waiting until test came back to give a reason for the dementia. I talked to Mom about twenty minutes ago and Grandma was in getting the MRI the had scheduled for that. As much as I hate that Grandma is hurting this was really a good thing. Now it isn't up to her wanting to go or not. The doctor says this is where she has to be and so that is where she is going. I think we all can breath a little easier knowing this.

good to be home
This past weekend we ended up in Utah. We had two events that we needed to attend (well actually there turned out to be a third event that we should have gone to but chose not to.) The problem was that the first thing happened on Thursday and the final thing happened Sunday afternoon.
Spencer's brother Matt still has his house in Highland even though he has moved back to Missouri. Until he moves his things out of the house at the end of this month the house is a really nice place to stay when we have to be in town. If we had had to stay with other family I think I would have not come in and stayed. I would have driven in for the function on Thursday and then gone home. I would have then had to have driven back in on Sunday. Which considering that we took both vehicles in it probably would have been cheaper to have just driven the car in twice. It worked out okay. It just meant that Spencer and I were in two different cars coming home.
On the way home last night Bub fell asleep almost as soon as we got back in the car after getting dinner. Monkey had taken a twenty minute nap before we had gotten dinner and so stayed up for the trip home. I think I take for granted how good the kids are in the car. Last night Monkey wanted something, but the only words i could hear him say was "I want". I tried to get him to talk louder, but I still could not hear what he was trying to tell me. I asked questions and the answers were always no. Finally I called Spencer and handed the phone over to Monkey so he could tell Spencer what he wanted and he talked loud enough into the phone that I was finally able to hear that he wanted apple juice. It was a bit frustrating that it took me calling.
But now that I have spent the night in my own bed I definitely have to say that I am so very glad to be home. I am doubly glad that today Gavin goes back to preschool!!!!
